The New Face of Facebook

If you haven’t already heard, Facebook is changing things again. Let me preface this post by saying I have absolutely hated every change Facebook has ever made. The changes in the past have made the popular social network more difficult to navigate. Now they are drastically changing the look of your profile page and replacing it with Timeline. This new format will go live in just a few days (December 22). Of course you can opt to publish your Timeline sooner, as I have.

I’ll confess that I was skeptical at first of the new look of Facebook. As I said, I hated the other changes they made. Timeline, however, is different. And, in my opinion, is better than the old profile page. I’ll say it…I really like Timeline! I think Facebook has hit a home run with this update.

There is so much more information you can share with your friends, and there are several new features. One of my favorites is the Map, where you can show places you have lived, worked and traveled. You also have the option to tag your photos with a specific place. It is a great way for friends to see where you have been.

I also really like that you can add life events at any point along your Timeline, even if they occurred pre-Facebook. You have the ability to add photos to those life events as well. This is a cool way to display that important event. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. 🙂

If you haven’t yet seen Timeline click the link here to check it out and view your own page. There you can preview your page, make changes and publish it if you so choose. It is coming whether you like it or not, so why not get a jump on the change before it happens.

I would love to hear your opinions on the new face of Facebook.

Have you published your own Timeline yet?

Do you like or dislike the changes, and why?
