For God did not send His Son into the world that He might judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
John 3:17 (HCSB)
Christmas is only a few days away. I know everyone has been busy preparing for the day. They have been out shopping for gifts and food, maybe making travel plans, and attending parties. We tend to get so caught up in everything that goes along with Christmas, but too often forget why we celebrate in the first place.
The whole reason Jesus came into the world was to save us from our sins. God sent His Son so that we might be saved through Him. That is why we celebrate Christmas. He is the true reason for the season. Without Jesus Christ there simply is no Christmas.
Christmas traditions are wonderful. I think it is important to develop family traditions as we celebrate Christmas each year. However, we must never let our traditions become the reason we celebrate. I pray that this year (and every year) we all stay focused on the One who gave us Christmas and a reason to celebrate…Jesus Christ.
May God bless you all!
