Why I Love Sunday

My favorite day of the week is Sunday. Why? Well, here’s a little glimpse into my typical Sunday routine.

The day always starts with Bible study and worship at ClearView Baptist Church. The question, “Are we going to church today”, is never asked in our house. Unless we are sick, or occasionally out-of-town, we will be there. When I don’t start my week at church the rest of the week just doesn’t seem to run smoothly. I need corporate worship to kick-start my week. It’s even better when I get to lead with the orchestra a couple of times a month.

After heading home for a quick lunch Rachel and I are back at church for middle school praise band rehearsal. This is probably my most favorite part of the day. I so enjoy listening to some very, very talented kids as they worship and praise God. Week after week I can hear and see how much they are improving. Alexis Cruz is the perfect leader for this group. He is so talented, and his patience with the kids is amazing. The kids really seem to respond well to Alex and his direction. I’m so very thankful for his time and dedication to this ministry.

After rehearsal I head back home for a brief rest before making my third trip to church for orchestra rehearsal. I’m so blessed to be a part of such a talented group of musicians dedicated to using those talents to serve and worship God. We always have fun doing what we do, and it is great way to end my Sunday.

So there you have a glimpse into my typical Sunday. Much of the day is spent at ClearView. Some may think that doesn’t sound like a good day, but to me it is awesome. I enjoy being in God’s house, surrounded by His people, and being involved in several different areas of ministry. And that is a big part of the reason I love Sunday.
