I just finished reading Max Lucado’s book You Can Be Everything God Wants You to Be. This little book is packed full of Biblical wisdom as only Max Lucado can present it. It is designed to be given as a gift…maybe for a graduate…but it contains some very sound advice for anyone who is trying to figure out what to do with their life.
Selections contained in the book are taken from another Lucado work, Cure for the Common Life, which I read some time ago. The basic theme running throughout the book is that God uniquely made each of us and wants us to find our “sweet spot”. Each chapter begins with Scripture and details how God desires for us to figure out what we do well and enjoy doing and do it. He made us the way we are and wants us to be happy and please Him. As Lucado states, “Your Father is too gracious to assign you to a life of misery”.
If you are trying to discover what God made you to do, or maybe need some help figuring out which job to consider, then this is a good little book to help you along the way. “You cannot be anything you want to be. But you can be everything God wants you to be”.
