This weekend has been filled with many activities. Lots of fun was had and I wanted to share a little of it here.
My weekend started early as I only worked half the day Friday. I was able to go out to lunch with Jacinda (a very rare occasion). It was nice to be able to sit down with just her and have a quiet lunch together. We really should try to do that more often. From there my weekend focus turned toward Elise as I packed up our gear for her Sunday school field trip Friday night. We began at Mr. Shane’s (our children’s minister) where we set up camp.
From there we headed to Rippavilla Plantation Corn Maze. The kids had a blast weaving their way through the maze in the dark. Luckily we had flashlights and a full moon to help guide the way. It was lots of fun. After that it was back to Mr. Shane’s for hot dogs, smores and more fun. We finally retired to the tent around 11 pm. Elise slept like a log. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for me, but it was a great time. The temperature dipped into the 40’s overnight, so we were pretty cold Saturday morning. When we made it home I was very thankful to be able to take a nice long, hot shower.
Following a few hours of rest we were back in action Saturday afternoon. I had passes to attend the All Pro Dad Father and Kids Experience at Baptist Sports Park on the Titans practice field. Rachel opted to stay home, so I took Elise and her friend Georgia. It was a blast! We had so much fun, and I’m really sorry Rachel missed it. These All Pro Dad events are designed for dads and their kids to connect and have fun together. I was thankful to have some more bonding time with Elise. Georgia and I bonded as well. She doesn’t get to see her dad very much, and I was happy to be able to take her along for this event. Both girls had a great time running drills and tackling me. Here are a few of the pictures from our fun afternoon.
I am so thankful that God has blessed me so much. He has given me two very special daughters, and I’m so happy to have had these special times with her this weekend! I look forward to more weekends like this one soon.
