On Wednesday nights at ClearView Baptist Church we have been learning about sharing our faith. Thus far our pastor, Mark Marshall, has taught us that God works through us to get the Gospel out to the world and that the key to sharing our faith is boldness. This past Wednesday we discussed the role of prayer in sharing our faith, along with ways to share. The message ended with the playing of my favorite Casting Crowns song, Here I Go Again.
The song has a very powerful message for the listener. Too often we waste our time talking about things that simply are not important, at least in reference to the eternal. We are more than willing to discuss the weather or the latest episode of our favorite TV show, but we are too afraid to share our faith. As the song says, “What am I so afraid of?”. Our fears of not knowing what to say or how to say it could mean we miss the opportunity to share the Gospel with someone who really needs to hear it. After all, “this might be my last chance to tell him that You love him”.
If you’ve never heard the song check out the video below. If you have heard it then listen again. We all need to be reminded that sharing our faith is a life and death decision. Those who believe will spend eternity in Heaven with the God of the universe, while those that reject Him will spend eternity separated from God in Hell.
Father, give me the boldness and courage I need to share my faith with those who need to hear it. Don’t allow my fears to get in the way of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Amen.
