During our Wednesday office Bible study today someone shared a couple of verses on their heart. One was Isaiah 40:31. I went back and read a few verses earlier, beginning with verse 28.
28Do you not know? Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never grows faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding. 29 He gives strength to the weary and strengthens the powerless. 30 Youths may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall, 31 but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint. (HSCB)
I was reminded that we all face trials. We will grow weary. We will stumble. And, yes, we will fall. The good news is this. If we put our faith and trust in Him then we will be renewed by the One who never grows weary. It’s so easy to say, but often difficult to do. Our human nature makes us want to do it ourselves. Of course, that is when we fail. It’s only when we let go and give God the control that we regain our strength.
I really needed to hear that verse today, and there is no doubt in my mind it was God’s way of telling me to trust Him today and renew my strength. Thank you Ronnie for sharing the passage!
