Today is the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ! As I grow older and my relationship with Him matures, Christmas means so much more to me than in years past. So, today that is why I rejoice!
However, today is also a time to keep family Christmas traditions and start new ones. We started our morning as we have for the past several years with the reading of the Christmas story. This year was a little different and special. Instead of me reading the story, Rachel and Elise read it to us. What a great new tradition to begin! From there we moved on to opening the gifts. I love watching my girls open the packages. The looks on their faces, and sometimes the delighted squeals, are priceless! Once again they were not disappointed with the gifts they received. In fact, Elise has been playing with one of hers (a DS) all day!!
We just wrapped up our family Christmas lunch a short time ago. Turkey and ham, sweet potato casserole, green beans, stuffing, and lots more…yum!!! I’m looking forward to leftovers for dinner already.
I am very blessed with a wonderful family, great friends, and an awesome Savior!!! I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and makes lots of memories today!
