The family and I attended the Canadian Brass concert last night at the beautiful Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville. With accompaniment from the Nashville Symphony, the Canadian Brass performed a phenomenal Christmas show. This was my first time seeing them perform live, but will not be the last.
The concert began with a Christmas favorite from the Nashville Symphony, Sleigh Ride. When the Canadian Brass was introduced, the group entered the concert hall from the rear and proceeded down the aisle while playing their awesome arrangement of Just a Closer Walk With Thee. From there it was non-stop entertainment from the guys. They performed all sorts of styles of music during the show, including traditional Christmas tunes, the blues, Dixieland, and signature Canadian Brass pieces. From start to finish the performance was incredible. These guys are so talented and are fun to watch and hear. Having the Nashville Symphony providing accompaniment was a real treat. We have some very talented musicians in Nashville, and I heard many of them last night. The concert ended with a Canadian Brass signature song, and my personal favorite, The Saints’ Hallelujah.
I can’t say enough about how great the concert was. I have enjoyed listening to the Canadian Brass for years and am glad I was finally able to see them live. I hope there will be many more opportunities to see them in the future.
