This past week has been a very difficult one. Monday morning, three of my co-workers unexpectedly lost their jobs. The announcement came as a huge shock to everyone at work, and we have all been on edge this week wondering who might be next.
Tonight, I had the privilege to attend a party in honor of those three guys. They are some of the nicest, most loyal and hardest working people you may ever meet, and what happened to them this week was just wrong. However, I, along with others, know that God has a much bigger plan for them. The host of the party tonight cited Romans 8:28 as the Scripture that came to mind while reflecting on what happened this week. That verse says:
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. (HCSB)
I can tell you that these men love the Lord. I have spent time with them in a weekly Bible study at our office. I am convinced that God will use this unjust event for something great, and my brothers in Christ will be blessed!
So, I will be praying for them as they take the next steps in their careers. I pray that God will lead them to the right jobs, and that they will be blessed throughout this whole ordeal.
