Washington, D.C….Day 4

We began day 4 by visiting the White House. Unfortunately, we could not get a tour (we didn’t make the request early enough) but were still able to view the outside and get some good pics. From there we walked to the National Mall to view the reflecting pool and various monuments surrounding it. We visited the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. From there we headed to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing for a guided tour, where we saw how money is printed. After that, Rachel, Elise and I headed to the Washington Monument for a ride to the observation deck (Jacinda and Papa decided they didn’t want to go up). We rode an elevator to level 500 in just 70 seconds. I was very glad I did this. The view from up there was incredible, even though it was a cloudy day.

We ended our day in Old Town Alexandria with dinner at the Fish Market where we enjoyed some delicious seafood. Despite a little rain it was a good day.
