Washington, D.C….Day 3

Today was a long one. We began with a second visit to the Natural History Museum to finish up what we were not able to see Monday. Then, we hiked up Capitol Hill for a tour of the U.S. Capitol building. The tour began in Senator Bob Corker’s office. From there we rode the Congressional subway from the Senate offices to the Capitol. The Capitol building itself is truly an amazing piece of architecture. The dome (pics included) is the most impressive part, in my opinion. Part of the tour included sitting in the gallery to hear a live debate on the Senate floor.

Following the Capitol tour we headed over to get a few pics of the Supreme Court and then visited the Library of Congress. After that we had a nice dinner at the Capitol City Brewing Company, then headed to Union Station to take in the sites and check out the mall. We definitely got our exercise in today. I’m not sure exactly how far we walked, but I would guess around 4-5 miles total. Aside from everyone being tired, we had a good day!
