Worship

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. The main reason for that is because I get to take part in worship at ClearView. Yesterday I had the opportunity to serve in the orchestra as we helped lead worship. That is one of my favorite things to do. I thank God for allowing me to use my talents to serve in our church. Some of my most memorable moments in worship have occurred when I heard, sang, or played a particular song. We performed one of those songs yesterday…In Christ Alone. This may be my favorite hymn. There are 4 verses in this song that speak volumes. The most powerful part is the third verse.

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day

Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ!

Those words remind me of why I worship. Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again so that I may have eternal life! I was bought with the blood of Christ…we all were. We should all praise and worship God daily for that awesome gift!

  1. Mike, it is truly an honor to be able to help in worship. I run sound at my church and watch with awe of people just like yourself that God has gifted with the ability to play an instrument. Keep your eyes on him and your lips to the trombone.
