Special Times

I was privileged yesterday to take Rachel to breakfast. It was one of those special times when nothing extraordinary happened. It was just a dad and his daughter doing a little bonding, and it was great! I don’t get very many opportunities to have breakfast with my kids, and there are even fewer times I can take one of them out. Since I had to be at church early I thought it would be fun for the two of us to spend a little quality time together. The older Rachel gets the more I understand the importance of the little things I can do for her. I know the day is coming (teenager in just 2 years) when she’s not going to think it’s fun or cool to hang out with dad, even if we are at Starbucks. I cherish the quite times I can get with her, and pray that there will be many more to come. My kids are just growing up way too fast!
