I was very proud of Rachel, my oldest, today as she participated in a regional Bible drill competition. Although she did not advance to the next level, I was glad she had the courage to participate. Memorizing key passages of Scripture is challenging. I pray that this is something Rachel will continue to show an interest in. As a father, I want my children to learn God’s Word and be excited about reading the Bible. Rachel has impressed me with what she has learned thus far. I pray that I will be a good role model for her (and for Elise). After all, if our kids never see us reading the Bible or quoting Scripture, how can we expect them to want to learn it?
